Adam and Sydney recently relocated to Portland, OR from Utah. They wanted their engagement photos to showcase the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, so ventured just a few minutes from both of our homes to the Hoyt Arboretum. The arboretum is within Portland city limits, is located in Washing Park and has endless trails and trees to explore. We had talked about heading east to the Columbia River Gorge, but since Oregon has been wonderful about taking CDC suggestions seriously in light of COVID19, many states parks have been closed. Thankfully, the arboretum has remained open and we were able to safely practice social distancing while getting outside for this very sweet engagement set.
It’s been wonderful experiencing how loving people are by seeing the combination of love of neighbor, and seeing how love amongst lovers is not stifled. Love (in all its forms), has remained this beautiful focal point amidst very uncertain times. Practicing and also observing others being mindful and respectful of health by taking safety precautions, but also seeing how romantic love is still ever present has been a hopeful reminder that even when circumstances aren’t perfect, displaying love is still a part of who we are collectively.
